Purpose:

This position is responsible for operating best in class Application Laboratory capability and practices for the Electronics Technology Center China (ETCC). This position initially focuses on the polishing works and wafer measurement works of Planarization modules of ETCC. The person will interact and collaborate with Analytical Team and Technical Application Team to align and execute the best-known-methods application practices with the emphasis on safety, quality, and speed.

The incumbent will be working on the polishing works and wafer measurement works to ensure safety and quality, for example, SOPs (Standard Operation Procedure) and SWP (Safety Work Procedure). She/he is expected to be a strong advocate of safety-first culture. The position will be building and ensuring alignments with internal teams as well as global teams on polishing and wafer measurement works.

Nature and Scope:

The position will be based in Shanghai and will report directly to the Head of Application Technology of ETCC, Semiconductor Materials BU in China. She/he will be accountable for all polishing works and wafer measurement works in the Planarization Application Laboratory of ETCC to ensure safe execution, quality standard and response speed to customers in China.

• Fulfill the requests of polishing works and wafer measurement works from internal and external customers.
• Ensure consistency in polishing works and wafer measurement works with the highest standards of Merck safety and quality policies/practices.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and environmental requirements.
• Maintain equipment and process performance by developing operations and troubleshooting procedures and establishing quality standards.
• Adopt/utilize digital means/programs to capture, store and analyze information and maintain security and confidentiality.
• Enable cross sharing of learning, insight and experience of polishing works and wafer measurement works between team members.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor or above in science and engineering fields. Educational background of mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, or electronics is a plus.
• A proven track record of polishing works and wafer measurement works, process operation, and equipment handling.
• Hands-on experience and broad knowledge about polishing works and wafer measurement works of chemical mechanical planarization.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good English skill is a plus
